Chocolate for Breakfast!

Seriously, we always get chocolate prizes at the Breakfast Club...

That is why so many of us attend ;)

But today we actually all got to eat gourmet choccies for breakfast - what a pity some chocolate lovers like Noni could not be with us ;)

Meeting #190 with Aletta

Thank you to the outgoing Division Governor of Toastmasters Southern Africa, Aletta Rochat, who shared "Reflections of a DG" with us as a Competent Communicator project.


Her inspiring points were that:
  •  holding high office is not about the Wearing the Badge, but about the opportunity to serve and grow
  • things are always personal first, because that is how the Toastmasters organisation best serves the individual member 
  • you have to have a message, otherwise you are just transmitting information.

First up, congratulations to our meeting award winners who went home clasping chocolate as always!  Alison Beere (Best Speaker), Sarah Rossouw (Best Evaluator), and guest Zoliswa Gidi (Best Table Topic Speaker)

Meeting review - 22 January 2014

After an excellent meeting the week before, mostly because I got over myself and shocked everyone by delivering a prepared speech, I was thrilled to see a full table of faces greet me on Wednesday morning – 14 pairs of eyes stared with anticipation back at me!  We welcomed two guests in this number, Rhona and Leanne, a mother and daughter team out to conquer the world.  We hope to see them again.

19th September: Meeting Review

At just over a year old and already 59 meetings in, I think we can safely say that The Breakfast Club is way past “the little train that could” stage and now in a league all its own. Catch us if you can is probably more apt these days.   We enjoyed another fun meeting this morning, with lots of old faces and even a few new ones. It was great to have such a big turnout.
